Google Business Profile posts: what to post each week (home services)

You don't need a marketing plan to keep a Google Business Profile active. You need one useful post a week and a simple rotation so you never stare at a blank box. This is the rotation we use at FreshMap.

The three kinds of post Google offers

According to Google's help page on posts, you can create:

For most trades, almost every week is an update. Use an offer only when you have a real one.

A five-part weekly rotation

Rotate through these and never run the same type two weeks in a row:

  1. Seasonal tip. Something useful for this month in your trade: a furnace check before the first cold snap, gutters after the leaves fall, pipes before a freeze. Three to five practical sentences and a soft next step.
  2. Service spotlight. Pick one service you offer: what it is, the signs someone needs it, and what the visit looks like.
  3. Local angle. Name the town or area you serve and tie it to the weather, the season or the kind of homes there. Never invent a local event.
  4. Question and answer. One question customers actually ask you, answered in plain words.
  5. Offer or reminder. Only if you have a real offer. Otherwise, another tip.

How to write each one

Sample Gutter Co.Gutter contractor · Example businessExample post

Leaves are down. Are your gutters clear?

Clogged gutters can overflow in the first heavy rain and send water toward your siding and foundation. After the last leaves drop, clear the gutters and check that each downspout drains away from the house.

We clean gutters and check downspouts for homes around our service area. Use the button below to request a visit.

Keep it going

Google says posts older than six months are archived unless you set a date range (Google Help), so a profile whose last post is from spring looks quiet. One post a week, every week, is easier to keep up with than a burst of five and then nothing.
